G-Plex... It’s a Kick
“If we build it they will
come.” A quote from a popular movie could have very well been the
motivation behind the construction of Garrettsville Sports Complex known as
the G-Plex. Bob and Lisa Schwan filled a need over a year ago when they
built the G-Plex indoor soccer field.
The G-Plex is located
at the end of Industrial Drive is quite busy during the evening hours and on
the weekends with soccer programs. The facility opened over a year ago and
has grown in popularity since. Besides the indoor soccer, they offer the
field for indoor softball, indoor baseball, indoor walking, along with
batting cages and an aerobics room. They also have been host to several
birthday parties. Recently, the G-Plex hosted a weekend softball tournament
and received great reviews. The facility is open Monday through Thursday
from 5-9 p.m. with the first hour open to those who would like to walk
without having to fight the elements. The rest of the evening the indoor
field is occupied by soccer teams of all ages. On Saturday they are open
from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. with soccer games going on throughout the
day. If you think soccer is only for kids, think again; they offer
recreational soccer and competitive soccer for adults too. Another activity
available at the facility is the batting cages, however, it is best to call
and check on their availability. When baseball season kicks into gear the
time slots for the cages fill quickly, as teams reserve the cages for
practice. Need a place to hold your child’s birthday party? Well then, try
the G-Plex they have plenty of room. They have a room available for
aerobics, yoga, or exercise or dance classes. If you would like to hold
classes there they would be interested in talking to you. You can reach the
G-Plex at 330 527-9000. |
