Classmates,
After I graduated I was
employed at Paul Patry Buick & Pontiac as Service/Parts Manager. In 1985 I
married Linnette Reynolds Layer and I became the proud stepfather of Amy &
Kellie Layer. In December of 1986 Lauren Rae was born. I remained employed
at Paul Patry’s until January of 1990 when I purchased Village Motors on
Brosius Rd in Garrettsville and formed
Rick Patrick’s Auto Service & Sales. I became an Auto Dealer in 1991. I
purchased the towing business in 2000 which is Village Motors Towing. I am
also involved in Linnettes family business H&H Investments and South Wood
Apartments. With three girls attending GHS I was very active in the GHS
Athletic Boosters from 1984-2003. I am a charter member of the
Garrettsville Lions Club that I helped form in 1996.I served as Vice
President from 1998-2004. I have been a member of the Garrettsville/Hiram
Chamber of Commerce since 1984. I have served as President for the last 5
years starting my 6th soon. I have served on various committees
for the Village of Garrettsville appointed by the Mayor. I have been very
dedicated to the growth & people of Garrettsville in trying to bring in
new businesses, special events and residents to the Garrettsville/Hiram
area. On October of 1999 I became a Grandfather for the first time. I now
have three Grandsons. My hobbies are Antiques and Collector Cars. I
currently own 10 classic cars & trucks. I am currently restoring a 1975
Grand Prix similar to what I had in High School. I am a big Cleveland
Indians fan. Linnette & I love to travel in our spare time and spend time
with family and friends. On September 21 we celebrated our 19th
anniversary. Hope to see a lot of you this weekend to reminisce. Thanks to
Scott Phelps for all he has done getting a hold of everyone and this neat
website.
